NOTE FOR CLUB APPLICATIONS: If your club has persons that should be listed as Team Aides on all rosters, these names must be entered on the CLUB Application form. Log on using the club ID and password; select Membership Information from the Main Menu; select the club and click on the View Application and/or Add Other Team Aide button.

TEAM REGISTRATION:

The team registration consists of two parts: 1) completing the team application and 2) selecting the players, team officials and team aides to create a team database and rosters.

Each team must complete a new application just as they did last year. Here are a few things you can do to prepare for the Team Application.

     1.  Be sure your club has named a League Representative for each league on the Club Application in which you have teams participating. Each team must choose an affiliated League from a drop-down box. If a League Representative was not named on the Club Application, the league name will not be in the list, and the team application cannot be completed.

     2.  Decide on the team name format for your VCCL teams. All VYSA team names will begin with the Club Abbreviation followed by the name entered on the Team Application.

Look at the list of State Cup champions on the VYSA website. In most cases, the team name used does include the club abbreviation. Would your current team name format be a good "brand name" for your club in this context?

This is the time when you can make team name changes: For example, if your team name format was VAR Nike last year, you could change the team name format to VAR Virginia Rush Nike '89. Just be sure the same format is used for all your VCCL teams.

     3.  A Primary Team Contact must be entered for each club. This is the person who will be able to access the VYSA online database to complete player registration and keep team contact and player information updated.

If your team database and rosters are all managed by the club office, then one person in the office is typically used as the primary team contact for all teams.

If each team database and roster is managed by a Team Manager or other team official, then the Team Application is typically completed by that person who registers as both primary team contact and team official.

If you are not sure how to proceed, contact your club administrator.

     4.  A coach or team manager must be named for each team to complete the application.

     5.  Name missing in drop-down box: There are two reasons why a name may be missing:

        A.  The person did not name an affiliation with your club on their 2008 Risk Management Application.

        B.  The person did not complete their 2008 Risk Management Application. You will either have to delay the Team Application until the Risk Management application is complete or in the case of the required coach or team manager, you can assign another person to that position and then change it later. You should not enter a substitute name for the person named as Primary Team Contact as that person will receive an ID and Password giving access to the team database.

NOTE: When the time comes to build the team database, the last two digits of the team number must be entered as part of the process. All VCCL team numbers end with 01. Teams that are registering as VCCL guest teams MUST enter 02.
